We recently helped completely transform this nightclub interior in Central London!
The owners of Kubar in Covent Garden got in touch and tasked us with redesigning and painting the entire interior of their exclusive nightclub. The venue is downstairs, with no natural light so the owners wanted to design something that incorporated the use of UV graffiti.
Our designer put together a number of geometric proposals, working with a mood board created by the club owners. Once the design was finalised we set about planning the execution of the pieces. The preparation was a key factor, as our graffiti artists worked with the measurements of the space and mapped the design onto the wall. After all necessary areas were masked off the team began painting, using a mix of neon and UV graffiti paints.
The coolest part of this set of murals is that they can actually dance! The soundsystem of the club is cleverly wired into the lights so that they can flash in time with the beat of the music. Because we had used UV paint the installed blacklight reacts with the UV graffiti every time it flashes onto the surface. As music is playing the club walls look incredible, like the walls have lights fitted directly into them. The walls have an almost ‘Tron’ like feel to them, retro yet modern at the same time and the clubbers have been loving the new look.
We have painted many clubs across the UK and have a number of painting techniques to make your interior walls look brave and modern. UV graffiti is one of those techniques and is a versatile way of playing with light within the building.
