Last night the debut episode of the new season of Britains Next Top Model hit our screens in the UK. We were asked to create some live art at the premiere screening event in London!
The VIP event was attended by fashion industry experts, bloggers, the full cast of the show and the celebrity judges. Our task was to decorate a huge blank canvas with portraits of the shows four judges; Abbey Clancy, Paul Sculfor, Hilary Alexander and Nicky Johnston.
The advertising for the show has a distinctly urban vibe, which was continued as a theme throughout the event. The show’s billboard posters feature Abbey Clancy holding a spraycan and a ‘BNTM’ tag in the background, so street art style artwork felt right for the screening. There was even a giant cake which looked like it was made out of street furniture and cigarette butts, pretty delicious stuff! Our graffiti artists performed on an industrial looking raised platform, overlooking the venue and used a mixture of spray paint and ink to create their work.
Live art works perfectly at events because it provides an evolving artwork that always has something for guests to look at. Our artists start with a blank canvas and within any given time limit, produce a masterpiece. We only had a few hours at this event so worked quickly to create the portraits in a stencil style. Once the work was finished the judges jumped up and signed the wall. After this photo op the guests were invited to leave their mark on the wall. In the work we used an image of Abbey Clancy holding a burning torch. A highlight of the night was Abbey recreating this shot with a flare inside the building… The camera’s went crazy for this, it was a pretty surreal experience!
If you have an event, conference, product launch or even a television show premiere, our graffiti artists can procuce amazing artwork to any theme, whilst providing guests the unique experience of seeing graffiti style artwork produced live. To discuss ideas get in touch and a project manager will help you realise your vision.
