Europe’s Largest Piece of Shareable Art!

This year has been mega busy for us and we’ve achieved a lot already, including recently helping break a record!

We teamed up with Sony Pictures who wanted to do something big to mark the release of their latest film ‘Chappie’ and ended up breaking the record for Europe’s largest piece of shareable art! The planning of this event was meticulous. We found the perfect venue in East London and assembled a huge wall measuring 60ft in length! On this wall we hung 600 canvases and designed a mural using exciting artwork from Chappie. We depicted the film’s namesake drawing onto a wall, and filled the spaces with a backdrop of urban art.

The painting took place at a special event where we invited several YouTube bloggers to attend and help us create the artwork. Rather than let them loose on the wall untrained we gave them a quick graffiti crash course and helped them create some stencil art that added to the piece. Each of the bloggers will be giving pieces of the wall away to their fans and followers. The event marked another first for us as we live-streamed the evening’s festivities on the Twitch website, where viewers could tune in and see our graffiti artists creating in real time. We were also interviewed by London Live and BBC radio.

We have 20 canvases to give away, so if you would like to own a little piece of history (and a Graffiti Life goody bag) then send an email to info@graffitilife.co.uk, titled “Give me my Chappie Art!”…winners will receive instructions via email next week.

Chappie starring Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel and Sigourney Weaver is in cinemas nationwide from March 6th!
