Graffiti Life travels to Berlin for UFC
Here at Graffiti Life we have a huge range of artists who gather their inspiration from a variety of places, including their interests and hobbies. One interest which features highly is the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) who is the largest mixed martial arts promotion company in the world. Therefore the majority of our artists where overly excited to be taken out to Berlin to work on a large campaign for the company.
For those that don’t know, UFC showcases different weight divisions and is governed by the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts – making it the crème de la crème of marital arts entertainment – the top governing body. It holds up to 50 events a year all over the world and they certainly look after their fans by holding ‘Fight Week’: a week long party with meet and greets, receptions and exclusive parities in some of the top clubs and bars.
It was in Fight Week for Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Penne which we were invited to, to help with the advertisement and entertainment. The fight itself was surrounded by a huge buzz of excitement due to this being the first time Joanna Jedrzejczyk was to defend her title, therefore UFC wanted to make it extra special.
We started off the campaign by creating a special 3D canvas for UFC which focused on the unique and recognisable ring called ‘The Octogan’. The canvas was produced by our realistic artists in the UK, utilising their keen eye for detail and perspective. It was then transported to Berlin, where it was finished off by two UFC Fighters (Alexander-Gustafsson and Dennis Siver) before it toured around Berlin for a number of photo opportunities.
In addition to the 3D graffiti canvas we also created a large mural in a high footfall area of Berlin to advertise the upcoming Fight Night. The mural comprised of a number of silhouettes of people performing martial art moves accompanied with the details of the Fight Night’s date and location.
When Fight Week finally arrived the team where definitely excited, as we had been preparing the enter
tainment for a couple of weeks. Yet again Graffiti Life artists where flown out to Berlin to complete the final stages of this fantastic campaign.
The entertainment itself featured two different components. The first being a huge purpose built wall, that was painted live with a realistic graffiti piece depicting a fighter walking out towards the ring. Whilst this was being painted the team also prepared and painted personalised canvases for UFC fighters. The fighters and ring girls where then presented the canvases as a take away gift.
If you have a campaign that you would like to involve graffiti, or are looking for advertisement overseas in Europe do not hesitate to contact the team today and see what options we have available.
