NEW PROJECT TAKES OVER OUR EAST LONDON GALLERY

After to exhibiting back-to-back monthly shows for almost two years, we are carrying our curatorial strengths to new pastures and have handed over the reins of gallery space to PROOF LONDON. The space has been freshly transformed and now provides a shiny new space which is run by artists for artists.

With an evolving exhibition schedule spanning multiple genres and creative disciplines, PROOF’s focus is in exhibiting the cutting edge, the expert craftsmen and women and to support those who have dedicated their lives to creative output.

Tonight acts as the soft launch to the gallery, Proof and will present ‘Say No To Soft Drugs’ featuring 50 prints from Ermsy’s own Adihash Editions label.

Exploring pop culture references from bootleg t-shirts to international comic art, artist Ermsy shows the imaginary unconscious of cartoon characters. He has created a unique and highly personal universe for us to explore, in which dreams and the unconscious mind blur with comic book reality. His work has been shown across the globe at galleries in Glasgow, Bristol, London, NY, LA and more. He has painted across South America, Canada and Europe over a career spanning more than 20 years. He has also realised commercial projects for the likes of 10Deep, Mishka, Trainerspotter, Converse and Ecko Unlimited. The work of Ermsy is rooted in various disciplines, from graffiti through to illustration and comic art. A self-confessed graphic addict, Ermsy is immersed in a world of obscure graphic imagery and art reference points.

We’d love for you to join us for the preview tonight with complimentary drinks in the summer sunshine.
Thursday 2nd July 6:30pm til late at the new Gallery (26 Cheshire Street). We hope to see you there.
