It’s been a few weeks since we’ve been out there flexing our marker pen skills but we got the chance last weekend at popular tattoo convention Tattoo Freeze, in Telford.
Thousands flocked to the International Center to see some of the worlds best tattoo artists at work, along with a host of other attractions. We perform live at Freeze every year and one of the great things about the show is the varied range of acts and attractions that appear. Visitors enjoyed a roller derby tournament (won by our friends the London Rockin’ Rollers), seriously amazing Ice sculpting, BMX and skateboard demos, live bands and of course live markerpen shenanigans provided by your favorite bunch of graffiti artists!
We built a 12 meter wall and the ink started flowing soon after. The crowds watched us draw on a large scale using graffiti marker pens. 4 members of the Graffiti Life team invaded the space and quickly filled it with crazy characters, letters and scenes. We didn’t take any plans so the art evolved naturally throughout the event, working together we shared ideas and overlapped elements of each piece into one another’s work. All always happens when we perform live; the wall got a lot of attention from the visitors who were taking lots of photos. We met some really great people and had an amazing time, it was just a shame that we didn’t get any time to pick up some new ink! We look forward to seeing everyone again at next years Tattoo Freeze.
We are often making art live at events, to find out where we will be appearing next make sure you follow us on Facebook and Twitter and we’ll keep you updated.
